Research & Projects


Faculty members of the department are constantly involved in research, evaluation and audio-visual documentation of projects. Students are also involved  throughout the year thus giving them an opportunity to work on live projects.
 
Faculty members of the Department are constantly engaged in cutting edge research on communication studies, historiographies of media, pedagogy of journalism education, development communication.

 

Longitudinal research work done by faculty members have resulted in policy changes vis-a-vis the India's Community Radio Policy & teaching in the Department and several other departments in the country.

 

The Department works closely in collaboration with UNESCO, UNICEF, National Foundation of India & other such prominent agencies. Check out our blog to know more about the Department's work.

 

Students also get umpteen opportunities to work with the faculty members on their research projects.
 
The discipline collaborates with governmental and non-governmental organisations, multi-lateral agencies/institutions and works with them on the following areas:

 

  • Documentation
  • Participatory Evaluation Studies
  • AV documentation

 

The Audio-Visual Documentation Resource Unit (AVDRU), set up by the discipline has entered into an agreement with UNICEF to document its best practices. Documentation is done in the form of short videos, webstories and photographs. AVDRU has also produced multi-media material for the Department of Rural Development, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
