PH.D. (COMMUNICATION)
The Communication Department offers:

- A full-time Ph.D programme: Open to all MA (Mass Communication & Journalism, Communication & MCJ) graduates with NET (JRF) qualification. The full-time programme requires students to stay on the campus and complete their research within five years.

- A part-time Ph.D programme: Open to all MA (Mass Communication & Journalism, Communication & MCJ) graduates who are residents of Hyderabad/Secunderabad only. Such students will be required to provide a residence certificate.

Admission to the Ph.D programme is through an all India Entrance Test. Candidates who clear the entrance test will be called for an interview. At the interview, candidates will be required to defend the proposal they have written in the entrance test. However, once admitted they are free to change their topic. Only students who clear both the entrance test and the interview will be admitted into the programme.
Important Beginning July 2010, Ph.D scholars will be required to complete a 12-credit course work spread over two semesters upon approval from the department before taking up actual research on Ph.D.

Besides pursuing their research, Ph.D scholars get opportunities to participate in a number of seminars, workshops, interactive sessions with visiting professors, part-time teaching assignments & work on other projects.
